SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Christian Church is pleased to announce our 5th Annual Ethnic Food Festival, Saturday October 10, 2009 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Featuring traditional culinary favorites from Greece and Lebanon, including:

* Gyros – Grilled seasoned thinly-sliced lamb, wrapped in warm pita bread and garnished with tomatoes, onions and tzatziki (our special garlic-cucumber-yogurt sauce)

* Souvlakia – specially seasoned chicken kabobs grilled on site

* Dolmades – rice, beef and spices rolled inside grape leaves and stewed in rich chicken broth

* Spanikopita – the classic Greek spinach and feta cheese pie

* Baklawa – a perennial favorite: chopped nuts and honey baked in light and flaky phyllo dough

* Hummus & Pita – traditional Middle-Eastern dip: chick peas, sesame paste, olive oil and garlic blended together and served with warm flat bread triangles

* New This Year – A selection of sweet and buttery Greek cookies served with Greek coffee

And while you’re here, step inside the church for displays of Eastern Christian art and culture or enjoy a cup of coffee as you browse through our Bookstore with hundreds of items from books and gifts to Byzantine Icons.
